Welcome to The Pointe of Healing Blog Page: A Safe Space for Athletes Struggling with Eating Disorders
Hi there, and welcome to The Pointe of Healing Blog Page! If you’ve found your way here, chances are you or someone you care about is struggling with the intersection of athletics and disordered eating. First and foremost, I want you to know that you are not alone. This space was created to be a judgment-free, supportive, and educational hub where we can share experiences, find helpful resources, and break the stigma surrounding eating struggles in sports.
I know firsthand how isolating it can feel to deal with an eating disorder—especially as an athlete in ballet. The pressure to perform, meet body standards, and push past physical limits can make it difficult to recognize when something isn’t right. Whether you’re here to seek support, share your story, or simply learn more, I’m so glad you’ve taken this step.
Why I Created This Website
This platform was born from both personal experience and a deep desire to help others who are struggling. There are so many misconceptions about eating disorders in athletics, and I want to create a space where real conversations happen—where people feel heard, validated, and supported.
Too often, the conversation around eating disorders focuses only on weight or appearance. But for athletes, the issue goes much deeper. It’s about performance, pressure, mental resilience, and identity. Many of us are conditioned to believe that pushing through pain is part of the game, making it even harder to acknowledge when we need help.
That’s why this website isn’t just about information—it’s about community, connection, and growth. It’s about creating a place where people can talk about their struggles openly, access resources tailored to their needs, and find encouragement from others who truly understand.
What You’ll Find Here
I’ve designed this website to be both informative and interactive, offering multiple ways to engage depending on what you’re comfortable with.
1. A Space to Share Your Story
One of the most powerful ways to heal is by sharing your experience—not just for yourself, but for others who may be going through something similar.
On the “Share Your Story” page, you can submit your personal story about eating struggles, recovery, or anything related to your journey. Whether you choose to have it published on the site or just want to share it privately with me, this space is for you.
- If you choose to make your story public, it can help others feel less alone and inspire hope in those who need it most.
- If you prefer to keep it private, I’m here to listen and will personally respond when I can. Sometimes, simply putting our thoughts into words and having someone on the other side can make a huge difference.
I believe that storytelling is a form of healing—not just for the person sharing but for those reading as well. Your experiences matter, and they deserve to be heard.
2. The Resource Hub
Finding reliable, helpful information about eating disorders in sports can be overwhelming. That’s why I created the Resource Hub—a regularly updated page filled with articles, research, tools, and personal recommendations to help you on your recovery journey.
Here’s what you’ll find:
* Articles on nutrition, mental health, and recovery strategies
* Support group recommendations
* Interviews with professionals and athletes who have overcome similar struggles
* Links to books, podcasts, and other resources I and many others have found helpful
I update this section weekly, so there will always be fresh content to explore. If you want exclusive weekly reminders and additional resources, you can sign up at the bottom of the page. Simply enter your name and email to receive recovery-focused content right in your inbox.
How This Site Can Help You
Everyone’s journey with disordered eating and athletics is different. Some people are just starting to recognize unhealthy patterns, while others may already be deep into recovery. No matter where you are, this site is meant to offer guidance, support, and encouragement.
Here’s how you can use this platform to support your own journey:
Find stories that resonate with you. Reading about others’ experiences can provide insight, validation, and a sense of belonging.
Use the Resource Hub. Education is key in both recognizing and overcoming disordered eating. I’ve compiled some of the best information out there to help you better understand what you’re going through.
Share your experience. Whether you submit a story publicly or reach out privately, talking about what you’re facing is an important step toward healing.
Sign up for weekly support. If you want extra motivation, resources, or reminders, subscribing to the email list can help keep you on track.
Connect with a community. The more we talk about these struggles, the more we reduce the shame and stigma. Engaging in these discussions can be incredibly empowering.
You’re Not Alone—And You Don’t Have to Go Through This Alone
I created this website because I wish something like this had existed when I needed it. Recovery isn’t linear, and it isn’t easy—but it is possible. Whether you’re here to learn, to heal, or simply to feel understood, I want you to know that this is a space for you.
Every small step matters, and by being here, you’ve already taken one.
If you ever feel like you need support, have questions, or want to reach out, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I see you, I hear you, and I believe in you.
